Dataset description

Under the FIDO Act (= Financing Decentralised Governments) CBS reports quarterly since 2001 to the Ministry of Finances on the EMU balance of 5 levels of government; municipalities, provinces, water boards, common arrangements and police regions. To this end, the local authorities concerned receive a quarterly survey— form (paper or e-mail) containing some posts on the financial have to fill in the account. CBS calculates the EMU balances. Each quarterly, a high response to the survey (over 90 %) is achieved. The data usually appears on StatLine about a quarter after end of the reporting period. The data for a specific the reporting period shall be revised twice. In July a year after the reporting period and in July two years after the reporting period so that a member can be at the starting positions or the final positions of the balance sheet items from the annual accounts. EMU balances of municipalities, debts and debts by primo year and by stocks and changes per quarter.
