Dataset description

The map layer gives an indication of the flood depths that may occur in protected areas if primary or regional flood defences would break at the mitigating flood levels. These are areas protected by flood defences with a safety standard in the order of 1/1000 to 1/10,000 per year. However, there are even more extreme situations where also flooding areas, which remain ‘dry’ on this water depth map. These areas are indicated on the map with a red shading to make it clear that they belong to the potentially flooded area. This is only done for areas protected by primary flood defences. See here for more information about what you can use this card (less) for.
