Dataset description

This table contains data that also serve as a basis for determining the level of the General Distributions to municipalities and provinces. The Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations determines these benefits to municipalities and provinces on the basis of distribution models. The units used for this purpose by CBS for the final and provisional figures of the metrics are described in the ‘Explanatory note on the calculations of benefits from the 1997 et seq.’, the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The number of inhabitants in urban and rural areas is calculated for the purposes of the distribution system used by the Province Fund. This distribution system entered into force on 1 January 1998 (Official Gazette, 1997, 526). As of reporting year 2016, CBS will no longer publish data on metropolitan agglomerations and urban regions. Due to various social developments, the philosophy and method underlying the demarcation are no longer topical. In addition, it appears that, depending on the scope of application, other authorities use a different classification of metropolitan agglomerations and urban regions, which means that it is no longer possible to speak of a single standard. The reclassification of municipalities of Amsterdam and Weesp into the newly formed municipality of Amsterdam will take place on 24 March 2022. In the ‘Law of 9 June 2021 on the reclassification of the municipalities of Amsterdam and Weesp’, the calculation of the General Distribution deviates from the effective date of reclassification and assumes that Amsterdam is reformed as of 1 January 2022. This table therefore assumes the renewal of the municipality of Amsterdam as of 1 January 2022 and the territory of Weesp is added to COROP 23 instead of COROP 24. Data available from: 2007. Status of the figures: Both preliminary and final figures are published. The topics: tax capacity housing, tax capacity non-residential and amendment De Pater can be permanently adjusted despite the status. Changes as of November 2022: Final figures 2022 — Surface building — Surface area of land — Surface water — Soil condition and shore length Final figures 2020 — Housing tax capacity — Load capacity non-residential — Amendment of the Father Changes as of 28 July 2022: When determining whether a person belongs to a minority is wrongly excluded in the previous version (figures 2021) a part of the group of minorities has been wrongly excluded. As a result, the number of minorities across the Netherlands has been underestimated by around 23 thousand. For almost all municipalities, the correct number of minorities is actually higher in 2021. This has been corrected in this version. For more information see paragraph 3. When are new figures coming? New figures are published irregularly.
