Motor vehicles active; type, age class, January 1

This table contains key figures on the number of active motor vehicles with a Dutch registration number broken down by vehicle type and age class of the vehicle. The figures are based on information from the Basic Vehicle Registration (BRV) or better known as the registration number of RDW. With the help of this registration, censuses were made of chalked Dutch vehicles on 1 January, which were allowed to participate in public road traffic during the previous year. Vehicles which have not been insured throughout the previous year and are therefore not allowed to drive are excluded. Vehicles that are in the stock on 1 January are also excluded. The new figures for the motor vehicle fleet as of 1 January will appear at the end of the first quarter of the relevant reporting year.
