Dataset description

This table contains figures on the average consumption of natural gas per m² of use area for private homes in the Netherlands broken down by housing type, year of construction class, area class and energy label class. This concerns the consumption of natural gas supplied via the public network. Natural gas consumption has been corrected as best as possible for temperature effects, however, it cannot be ruled out that temperature differences still play a role in changes in the numerals between different years. In order to monitor energy savings, knowledge must therefore be looked at over a longer period of time. In addition to the average, information is also included on the distribution of natural gas consumption per m². The statistics published in this table have been calculated on the basis of housing with: private households, a minimum area of 15 m² and a maximum area of 500 m², a year of construction from 1000 to the reporting year, at least 1 registered resident, without district heating and, a plausible natural gas consumption. Data will be available from 2012. Status of the figures: The figures for 2012 to 2018 are final, the figures for 2019 are provisional. Amendments as of 7 June 2022: None, this table has been discontinued. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable. Much of the information in this table can be found in table: Energy consumption of homes; type of house, surface area, year of construction and occupancy Explanation of symbols: nothing (blank): the figure cannot occur on logical grounds . the number is unknown, insufficiently reliable or secret * *: preliminary figures **: further preliminary figures In this table, the symbol nothing (blank) is also used for cells that are nil.
