Dataset description

This table shows changes in the size of populations of species and forest mushrooms. These changes give an indication of the changes in biodiversity, the effects of nature policy and the impact of climate change on nature. Changes in population size are reflected using indices. The explanatory memorandum to the species groups also indicates how the trend has been over the past few years. In addition, the table provides data on the beginning of the flight period of daybutterflies and dragonflies and on the beginning of the egg laying period of birds. Changes in these indicators can also give an indication of the impact of climate change on nature. The trend figures of mammals in 2013 have changed over the entire series of years, as an animal species (the hedgehog) has been added to the selection. Data available from: —1975 for water birds; —1986 for bats and beginning of the egg laying period of birds; —1990 for farmland birds, breeding birds, bats and the climate indicator species; —1992 for butterflies; —1994 for mammals and reptiles; —1997 for amphibians; —1999 for dragonflies and forest mushrooms until 2012. Changes as of 30 November 2015. None, this table has been discontinued. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable
