Dataset description

This table provides figures on the application of non-chemical control methods in agriculture and horticulture. These figures are excluding biological control. This table shows the number of holdings using different types of non-chemical control methods. Furthermore, the table shows the total area to which the methods are applied, both over an entire year and per month. Both the total number of holdings with application and the percentage of holdings with application compared to the total number of farms growing the crop are given. The sum of these percentages may be greater than 100 % per crop or crop sector, as companies can use more than one method. This also applies to the percentage of the total area to which non-chemical control methods have been applied. CBS also examines the use of chemical crop protection and biological control methods (see paragraph 3. Links to relevant tables and articles). Data available from: 1995. Status of the figures: final Changes as of 25 March 2008: The last figures for 2004 have been added. Changes as of 28 May 2015: This table has been discontinued. When are new figures coming? This table is no longer supplemented by new figures. Figures from 2008 onwards are published in the table ‘Application of mechanical control methods in agriculture’ (see for link section 3. Links to relevant tables and articles).
