Dataset description

The table shows the number of benefits in the context of a number of laws on disability. It is about the law on the disability insurance (WAO), the Incapacity for Work Act— provision for young people with disabilities (Wajong) and the Incapacity for Work Act— self-employed (WAZ) insurance. From 1 January 2004, workers who are ill on or after that date may no more claim to a WAO benefit. These employees after the employer has paid the salary for two years, apply for a benefit under the Work Act as of 1 January 2006 and income by labour capacity (WIA). For the people, who are already Having WAO benefit doesn't change anything. The number of benefits in the the framework of the WIA has not yet been included in the tables. Expected this will be the case at the end of 2009. From 1 August 2004, self-employed persons who are ill on or after that date no longer claim a benefit under the WAZ. For those who already have a WAZ benefit, nothing changes. The data are broken down by the following persons and benefits characteristics: — gender; — age; — region.
