Dataset description

This table provides budgetary and implementation data on the revenue from water levies. The data refer to both net revenue (after deduction of irrecoverable amounts and write-offs) and gross revenue (water levies imposed on households and businesses). Gross receipts are broken down by task. Water boards impose fees to finance their work. The main tasks are flood control (flood control), water management (ensuring the right water level for agriculture, nature, inhabitants) and water quality management (water treatment). Some water boards also manage roads and waterways. The data in the table are taken from the budgets and annual accounts established by the water boards per reporting year. Data available from: 2015. Status of the figures: The budget figures for the year 2021 are provisional and the previous years are final. The actual figures for the year 2020 are provisional and the previous years are definitive. Provisional achievement and budget figures may be adjusted on the basis of new or updated source material. Amendments as of 4 November 2021: Implementation figures for 2020 are included. The achievement figures for 2019 will become final. When new figures will come: New figures become available twice a year, in the first and fourth quarters. Preliminary budgetary figures for the current year (t) are published in the first quarter. The budget figures for the last year (t-1) can then be revised and become definitive. The provisional outturn figures for the previous year (t-1) shall be posted no later than twelve months after the reporting period. The two-year outturn figures (t-2) can then be revised and become definitive.
