Monumental and valuable trees and green structures are important for the recognisability and identity of the surroundings of the municipality of Ede. What is a monumental tree? — a tree of a rare species, type or high age class (at least 80 years of age or more); or — a tree that is part of a monumental environment or a culturally historically valuable object; or — a memorial tree planted at a socially important event. What is a valuable tree? — a tree that is sustainable and can continue to develop well; or — a tree that can develop further as a monumental tree; or a tree that is at least 40 years old.
