Dataset description

The PBL (Planbureau voor de Leef omgeving) and the CBS (Central Bureau for Statistics) publish the regional population and household forecast every three years. This forecast shows developments in the population and the number of households in the period 2017-2040. On September 2016, the regional forecast was updated and published for the sixth time. The tables show the population (by age groups), the number of households (by type) and the components of population growth for the municipalities, the 40 COROP areas and the provinces in the Netherlands for the years 2017 to 2040. For the population and the number of households, the lower limit and the upper limit of the 67 % forecast interval are also given, as an indication of the uncertainty surrounding the forecast figures.
