Dataset description

This table provides insight into the accrued and attainable pension entitlements of inactive people aged 15 to 65 who are resident in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, the pension system consists of three parts, which are called pillars. The first pillar is the collective old-age pension which it comes from the General Old Age Act (AOW). The second pillar is the collective labour-related pension accrual. Under the third pillar individual products of insurers fall. These can be closed to fill (deficiencies in) the first and second pillars. In addition to the aforementioned pillars, the assets of individuals such as savings can and real estate is used as a retirement provision. This will be the called the fourth pillar. All amounts indicated are gross per year and rounded to EUR 100 and averages per person. In addition to pension entitlements, the table also contains a replacement rate. This replacement rate gives the annual claims as a percentage of the total of the present income. A replacement rate above 100 % indicates that the income goes up when the person retires. For the other inactives, the replacement rate can be extremely high yielding percentages, this is explained by the fact that this group there is hardly any income. This does not mean that this group he has not had any income before. For example, a 63-year-old woman who hasn't paid work since her marriage more has been done. Her husband works completely and therefore the wife nor are they entitled to a benefit (and therefore income). If this woman turns 65, she’s getting an AOW benefit. Because she currently has no income, his replacement rate would be infinitely high. This woman belongs to the group of women aged 60 to 65. In this group, too, women who have worked all their lives, for example the current year has stopped working. That woman is inactive, but he did have income. The calculation of the replacement rate of the whole group shall be as this is the following: the claims and incomes of all individuals are added and divided by the number of people. A group of which a part of which no income has, still has a replacement rate. Data available from: 2005 Frequency: discontinued Status of the figures: The figures are final. Changes compared to the previous version: The table has been discontinued and replaced. When are new figures coming? nvt
