Dataset description

This table shows the number and share of persons using in-kind care financed by the Long-term Care Act (Wlz) and having a Wlz indication from the Centre Indicatiestelling Zorg in the reporting year and the reference date. This includes persons who are Wlz-indiceable and those using Wlz care covered by partner stays. Persons using in-kind care on the basis of one of the subsidy schemes are excluded. This concerns only persons registered in the Personal Data Base (BRP) during the reporting year or on the reference date. In addition, the number of care hours, slots or days and expenditure in the reporting year are given. The figures are broken down by gender, age group, form of delivery, care balance package (zzp) and type of care and region. In the case of delivery of residence, the care centre package is further broken down by stay with or without treatment; For partner stays and sector totals, this breakdown is not made. The expenditure figures for 2015-2017 do not include capital charges (i.e. real estate and inventory expenditure) which are not declared at the personal level. The inclusion of capital charges in the rates is an input path, with capital charges included at 50 % in 2015, 70 % in 2016, 85 % in 2017 and 100 % from 2018 onwards. From 2018 onwards, there has been so-called ‘full financing’ in which both care and capital charges are fully financed through the fees of the health care packages. Figures on total capital costs not declared at personal level in 2015-2017 can be found in the table: Care balance packages; Expenditure/volume based on nacalculation and agreements (for a link see paragraph 3). Data available from: 2015 Status of the figures: The figures for the last year are provisional and the figures for previous years are definitive. The figures in this table are based on Vektis data and data from the Centre Indication Institution Zorg (CIZ). Amendments as of 22 October 2021: Preliminary figures for 2020 have been added. The figures for 2019 have been finalised. Amendments as of 6 October 2020: Preliminary figures for 2019 have been added. The figures for 2018 have been finalised. In addition, a change has been made whereby the breakdown of the sector totals by sense of residence with and without treatment is filled for all published reporting years from 2015 onwards. When published in previous reporting years, this breakdown of sector totals was unnecessarily suppressed. When will there be new figures? Provisional figures shall be published no later than 12 months after the end of the reporting year. In the case of a new publication, the figures for previous years will be given the final status.
