Dataset description

This table shows the number and percentage of persons registered in the Basic Persons Registration (BRP) at any time in the reporting year and to whom medicinal products have been provided during the reporting year that are reimbursed under the compulsory basic health insurance. Until 2010, the figures also cover medicinal products to persons who were registered in the BRP but were no longer resident in the Netherlands. Medicines provided to admitted persons in hospitals (hospital care) and nursing homes (AWBZ/Wlz) are not included. Medicines provided to people in nursing homes are included. The figures are broken down by drug group, migratory backwards, generation, age and gender. CBS is moving towards a new classification of the population by origin. From now on, it is more decisive where a person was born, besides where one’s parents were born. The word migration background is no longer used. The main classification of Western/Non-Westerns is replaced by a classification based on continents and common immigration countries. This classification is gradually introduced in tables and publications with population by origin. This table has been discontinued due to the introduction of the new origin classification. Data available from 2006 to 2020 Status of the figures: All figures are final. Amendments as of 14 December 2022: Figures for 2020 have been finalised unchanged and the table has been discontinued. When are new figures coming? Not applicable, table has been discontinued. This table is followed up by the new table 'Persons with medicinal products provided; origin', see paragraph 3.
