Dataset description

This table contains figures on the population of the Netherlands on 1 January by gender, age, country of birth and region. The regions listed in the table are territories, provinces, COROP areas and municipalities. The regional totals presented concern aggregations of municipalities. In case of border changes that cross different regional borders, the division of the municipalities is grouped according to the most recent situation. For example: for the municipality of Vianen, which has moved from the province of Zuid-Holland to the province of Utrecht as of 01-01-2002, it is grouped in the table in the province of Utrecht. Data available from: 1996 Status of the figures: All figures in the table are final. Changes as of 3 June 2022: Final figures from 1 January 2021 and 1 January 2022 have been added. When are new figures coming? In the fourth quarter of 2024, final figures will be included in this publication as from 1 January 2023 and 1 January 2024.
