Dataset description

In this table you will find an overview of the presence and use of preventive measures against crime among the population. This concerns technical prevention measures, social prevention measures and prevention as a whole. Technical prevention measures (also known as techno-prevention) include additional security locks on external doors or an alarm system in the home. Social prevention measures (also known as socio-prevention) are when, for example, the light is lit in the evening in the event of absence or valuables are taken away from the car. This always concerns data on the population aged 15 years or older, unless otherwise stated. The national figures and the figures per police region are included. Due to change in question, research design and/or context, the 2009 IVM data is not comparable to data from other sources, such as the Integrated Safety Monitor (IVM) 2008, the Safety Monitor Rijk (VMR); 2005-2008) and previous security and/or victim surveys. Data available from 2009 to 2011. Status of the figures: The data is final. Changes as of 13 March 2015 None, this table has been discontinued. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable. This table is followed by prevention; region. See paragraph 3.
