Dataset description

The data in this table refer to the occupational mobility of people. It is determined whether people work in another profession one year later. These are so-called transitional tables. This means, for example, for this table, that figures for the year 2007 refer to the change in occupation from 2007 to 2008; figures for 2006 refer to the change in occupation from 2006 to 2007 etc. The appeal was determined on the basis of the Standard Occupational Classification (SBC 1992). This classification contains a five-digit trade code. If, according to this classification, a person is employed in another profession one year later, there is professional mobility. With the help of the SBC 1992, professions can be classified according to level and direction. Professional level refers to the first digit of the Occupational Code. A distinction is made according to five levels; — elementary — bearing — medium — higher — scientifically. By making a comparison between the old and the new profession, it is determined whether people who have changed profession end up in a profession of lower, equal or higher level. In addition, occupations can be divided into 16 professions; — general — teachers, staff positions in education, educational — agricultural — exact — technical — transport, communication and traffic — medical and paramedical — economic, administrative and commercial — legal, administrative, public order and security — language and culture — behaviour and society — personal and social care — management This determines to what extent people who have changed their profession end up in a profession of equal or different direction. Professional mobility is about the profession in the first employment of people. Occupation mobility only covers jobs in which a minimum of 12 hours per week is worked. The data in this table are based on the Labour Force Survey (EBB). The EBB is a study carried out by CBS to collect information about the relationship between people and the labour market. In this context, characteristics of individuals are linked to their current or future position in the labour market. Data available from 2003/04 to 2011/'12 Status of the figures Figures based on the EBB are always final. The figures on type of training, cost training and reason training from 2003 to 2010 are final. The figures on type of training, cost training and reason training for 2011 are provisional. Changes as of 10-10-2016 None, this table has been discontinued When are new figures coming? No longer applicable. This table is followed up by Active; change of professional level. See paragraph 3.
