Property for sale; expenditure of owners for purchase and ownership of property, 2015=100

This table describes the price evolution of homeowners’ spending on owning a home. The expenses concern purchase of new-build home, self-construction house and former rental properties. In addition, the acquisition costs and the ongoing costs for (large) maintenance and home insurance are also included. Data available from: 1st quarter of 2010 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are provisional for one quarter; the sub-series ‘Purchase former rental home’ and ‘storage insurance’ are immediately final. Changes as of 6 October 2022: This statistics shall be calculated using a European harmonised methodology. Within the European directives, the method for finalising figures has been changed. This method change has been implemented with the result that some digits with up to 0.1 index point or 0.1 % development have been adjusted. The figures thus correspond to the figures on the Eurostat website. The figures for the second quarter of 2022 have been added and the figures for the 1st quarter and 2022 have become final. When are new figures coming? The new figures will be published in January 2023.
