Dataset description

This table provides information on the turnover development of the retail sector. The turnover can be divided into value, price and volume. The data can be further divided into a number of branches according to the 2008 Standard Business Classification of CBS. The results are expressed in indices based on the year 2005. Developments in relation to the same period of the previous year have also been indicated. Some industries lack (temporary) value and/or price and volume data because the information is considered insufficiently reliable. Data available from: 2000. Status of the figures: The figures for the last four months are provisional, the remaining final. Changes as of 20 March 2013: This table ceased on 20 March 2013 and continued as "Detail trade; turnover development, index 2010 = 100’. See also paragraph 3. Changes as of 4 August 2010: Further investigation has shown that the reliability margins associated with the turnover of a number of retail publication groups are too large. As of January 2009, the results of the following groups will no longer be published: 4721 vegetable stores 4722 Butchers and ponders 4764 Shops in leisure items 47641 Shops in bicycles and mopeds 47762 Garden centers 4777 Jewellery 47782 Shops in optical articles When are new figures coming? This table was discontinued on 20 March 2013. The statistical examination which forms the basis of the results in this table has undergone a significant change from the date of publication of the first reporting period of 2013: In 2013, from reference year 2005 to 2010 (2010 = 100), the weighting factors were updated and based on the year 2010. When calculating indices, the weighting factors reflect the proportion with which the underlying outcomes count in a publication group. Because of these changes, CBS has released a new table.
