Dataset description

This table provides data on the income and wealth of self-employed persons by region. A distinction is made between, on the one hand, the persons for whom the main income is generated from self-employment and, on the other hand, all persons with income from self-employment. The figures in this table are further broken down by type of self-employed person and by economic activity. Different levels of regional divisions are available, from municipality to country. Reference date of target population, wealth, and municipal breakdown is 1 January of the reporting year. All figures in this table are personal, including capabilities; (business) wealth is defined per household and allocated to all household members as a measure of wealth. Reference date of target population and assets is 1 January of the reporting year. In order to determine the SIC for self-employed persons, the General Register of Companies (ABR) is used. Data available from 2007 to 2019. Status of the figures: The figures for 2006 to 2018 are final. The figures for 2019 are provisional. Amendments as of 27 October 2021: None, this table has been discontinued. Amendments as of 27 July 2021: Revised figures for 2006 to 2019 have been added. The availability of new sources of debt and accumulated credit in savings and investment mortgages, as well as a renewed methodology in the calculation of the significant shareholding and various other asset items, have changed the capital figures. When will there be new figures? No longer applicable.
