Dataset description

This table contains data on sales of motor vehicles. The information on the number of new vehicles sold comes from RDC — Central Mobility Bureau Information and concerns passenger cars by brand, commercial vehicles by type and motorcycles by cylinder capacity. In addition, information on the number of sales of second-hand vehicles has been included over the period 1998-2004. This data comes from the RDW (Service Road Traffic). Due to a changing delivery of class cylinder capacity of motorcycles, the figures from January to October 2013 are based on sales figures as of 15 November 2013. As of November 2013, only a monthly total of motorcycles will be published, without breakdown by cylinder capacity class. Data available from 1997 to 2015. Status of the figures: Sales figures from March 2014 to December 2015 are provisional. As this table has been discontinued, the data will no longer be definitive. Because CBS closes the data series earlier than the reporter RDC — CBMI, it can happen that total figures differ. Changes as of 23 February 2016 None, this table has been discontinued. The classification by vehicle type in the old table was no longer the same as that used by the reporter RDC — CBMI. In addition, CBS may no longer publish by brand. Due to a correction in the source file by the registrar, the figures for the first two months of 2014 concerning the number of new sales of passenger cars have changed. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable. Is there a successor? This table is followed by new and second-hand motor vehicles sold; type of vehicle. See paragraph 3.
