This map shows the location, type of field, and the status of the fields: in production, out of production, or undeveloped. The status of the fields is socially most relevant. Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is part of climate plans to reduce CO2 emissions in the atmosphere. For this purpose, CO2 is captured and pumped into empty, produced, oil and gas fields. Undeveloped fields could potentially be put into production in the future, including the associated above-ground installations and infrastructure. Such activities depend on political decisions and under the Mining Act are the responsibility of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate (EZK). The data is managed on behalf of EZK by the Geological Service Netherlands of TNO on the website http://www.nlog.nl
