Dataset description

Van de Westerschelde was created in 2004 with an ecotope map. A salty ecotope map is constructed by merging several layers of information from the intertidal area: soil height map (height and depth), geomorphological map, dry fall duration map, flow map and salt map. The soil height map is based on lodings (depth) 2004 and laser altimetry (height) 2004. Laser altimetry data combined with singlebeam specialist loading data where the laser altimetry data has been given a higher priority than the loding data. In order to complete the entire ecotope card, it was then supplemented by multibeam landings and additional data on Flemish territory. The single-beam box loads used with recording dates (start and end dates): 0100p0401 24-04-2004 16-08-2004 0200p0401 22-06-2004 02-07-2004 0300p0401 05-04-2004 14-05-2004 0400p0401 26-03-2004 14-04-2004 0500p0401 04-03-2004 30-03-2004 0600p0401 23-02-2004 22-03-2004 1800p0401 07-10-2004 20-10-2004 Laser altimetry recording: 24-04-2004 25-04-2004 Additional surveys (singlebeam): Sloehaven Vlissingen: January 2004 External harbour Vlissingen [0601p0401]: 07/06/04 Terneuzen Braakmanhaven: February 2004 West Buitenhaven Terneuzen [6001p0401]: 01/04/04 Ports Terneuzen Outside [0403p0401]: 08/12/04 Old Veerhaven Terneuzen [6006p0401]: 31/08/04 Buitenhaven Hansweert [6206p0401]: 17/05/04 Port of Perkpolder [0232p0301]: 15/05/03 Port Kruiningen [0201p0301]: 04/03/03 Total scaffolding (multibeam) [0542p0401]: 24-25/02/04 The routing distance for boxes 0100 to 0300 = 100 m The routing distance for boxes 0400 to 0600 + 1800 = 200 m Both banks of box 6 = 100 m The singlebeam data is interpolated with digipol.
