Dataset description

Since 1921, CBS collects data on housing construction and housing stock within the framework of real estate statistics. In this table, the following numbers are published on housing: — Houses for which a building permit has been granted (from 1953 to 2011) — Housing started (from 1921 to 1999) — Houses not yet started (from 1921 to 1999) — Houses in progress (from 1921 to 1999) — Houses not yet finished (from 1983 to 2011) — Additions and withdrawals — Balance increase — Housing stock on December 31st. Data available: from 1921 to 2011. Status of the figures: It’s definitely. Changes as of 15 July 2016: None, this table was discontinued after the publication of the figures for 2011. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable. Reason for cessation: The data on the housing stock will come from the Basic Registers Addresses and Buildings (BAG) from January 2012; the figures from the BAG do not match statistics until 2012 based on the Housing Register. The housing stock figures from January 2012 are published in other monthly and annual tables (see paragraph 3). For figures on building permits and data on changes in the housing stock from 2012 onwards: see the references in paragraph 3. This table is followed by a new table (see paragraph 3).
