Dataset description

This table describes students at secondary vocational education (mbo) and contains specific data on the level, learning path, course of study and migration background. Data available: from school year 2015/'16. Status of the figures: The figures for the school years up to 2020/‘21 are final and for the school year 2021/’22 are provisional. Changes as of 29 November 2022: The final figures for the 2020/‘21 school year and the provisional figures for the 2021/’22 school year have been added. MBO participants are now called MBO students. This has been adjusted in the table. In 2018, it was decided to call MBO participants MBO students from now on. This was introduced during the academic year 2020/'21 and incorporated into the Educational Education Act. Other bodies presenting figures about the MBO have already switched to MBO students last year. As from the academic year 2020/'21, the classification of MBO courses by sectors (part of the course of study) has partly changed, but this change has not yet been implemented in the final figures of 2020/'21 and the provisional figures of 2021/'22. CBS is moving towards a new classification of the population by origin. Therefore, the migration background figures in this table will no longer be updated as of the 2021/22 school year. When are new figures coming? An update will follow in the course of 2023.
