Dataset description

Stolpersteine (**struikelstones)** are memorials that the artist Gunter Demnig (1947, Berlin) places in the pavement in front of the houses where people have lived who were expelled, deported, murdered or driven to suicide by the Nazis. The file contains the (point) locations of the stumbling stones in the public space, coupled with the name(s) of the people commemorated with the stone in question, their date of birth, deportation date, suspected date of death and the place of death.
