Dataset description

This table contains data on the number of deceased among the population of the Netherlands per week. The data can be broken down by parts of the country, provinces, COROP areas, Security regions, GGD regions, Care office regions and municipalities. The regional totals presented concern aggregations of municipalities. In case of border changes that cross different regional borders, the division of municipalities is grouped according to the situation as it was at the beginning of 2021. The week numbering held follows the standard NEN2772 (ISO 8601), with the week starting on Monday and the first week in the year that has four or more days in that year. This may result in a few days of the first week in the previous calendar year, and/or a few days of the last week in the following calendar year. As a result, the weekly figures do not add up to the annual figures also presented in this table. Data available from 2015 to 2021 Status of the figures: The figures for the years 2015 to 2021 are final. Because the method differs from the method used for the figures on CBS StatLine, there may be small differences. These differences are caused by a different handling of fulfilled data. Amendments as of 15 July 2022: This table has been discontinued. Figures for 2022 can be found in the table 'Deceased; region (classification 2022)’. See paragraph 3. Changes as of 1 July 2022: The weekly figures for 2021 have been supplemented by further received messages and have been finalised. When are new figures coming? There will be no new figures. New weekly figures for 2022 are included in the table ‘Deaths’; region (classification 2022)’; see paragraph 3.
