Unit labour costs; N°, 1996-2017

This table provides data on the evolution of unit labour costs (wage costs consist of compensation of employees plus final taxes minus wage subsidy). Unit labour costs are usually calculated on the basis of employed persons. However, the hours worked are a more reliable measure of employment. Therefore, the table also shows unit labour costs based on hours worked. In addition to the original figures, the table also contains seasonally adjusted figures. Unit labour costs are represented by 13 industries based on Standard Business Classification 2008 (SBI 2008). Data available from: first quarter 1996 to the third quarter of 2017. Status of the figures: The data from 1996 to 2014 are final. Data for 2015, 2016 and 2017 are provisional. As this table has been discontinued, those provisional data are no longer definitive. Changes as of 2 November 2018: None, this table has been discontinued. The Central Statistical Office has recently carried out a revision of the national accounts. New statistical sources and estimation methods are used. This table containing data for revision has been replaced by Table Product Paying Costs; national accounts.
