Dataset description

Urban agriculture — growing food in and for the city — is an emerging phenomenon worldwide. The same is true in Amsterdam. In the city there are many green pieces of land that are not used, temporarily vacant land and empty premises. This is where initiatives by citizens, businesses, civil society organisations and housing corporations are created to set up vegetable gardens. These initiatives have many positive effects on the social cohesion, participation and liveability of neighbourhoods. The Spatial Planning Office has now made an inventory of urban agriculture projects in the city for the first time.DIt is under construction and therefore not yet complete. You can contribute to the construction of this card. For neighborhood gardens that are not on the map, additional information or corrections can be contacted by the source holder.
