Dataset description

This table provides cumulative quarterly figures on the expenditure and volume of long-term care covered by the Long-term Care Act (Wlz). The figures refer to care in kind, not to care paid out of personal budgets. The figures are broken down by delivery form of care and heaviness package (ZP) and form of care. For the delivery forms of stay and complete package at home, the care-heavy package is further disaggregated by stay with or without day use and treatment; for the other basic benefits of accommodation and care, this breakdown is not made. The delivery form part-time stay will be available from 2020 onwards. In the form of modular package at home, the figures are not broken down by day use and treatment. For the delivery forms of stay, part-time stay and full package at home, expenditure is broken down by type of care. As of 1 January 2021, the care-heavy package of GGZ-wonen (GGZ-W) was introduced. Before that time, a Wlz indication could only be applied for after 3 years of GGZ-B, but from 1 January 2021 this can be done earlier. The figures come from the Health Care Institute and are based on approved declarations at person level which are forwarded by the health care offices via Vektis. The figures in this table are a continuation of the tables 'Care in kind; expenditure/volume based on declarations‘and’Heavy packages; expenditure/volume based on declarations’ (see paragraph 3), which contained figures on AWBZ/Wlz expenditure and volume of in-kind care for the period 2010 to 2019, and were based on declarations of realised care by healthcare institutions to healthcare offices, originating from the Zorginstituut Nederland. Due to the transition to a new data source, there may be a trend break between the discontinued and new tables. Data available from: 2018 For 2018 and 2019, only data for the period January-December (i.e. annual figures) are available; from January-June 2020, cumulative quarterly figures on parts of the year will be published. Status of the figures: The quarterly figures for 2021 are provisional, the remaining figures are final. Changes as of 15 April 2022: Quarterly 2020 figures have been finalised. Provisional figures for the period January to December 2021 have been added. Changes as of 9 December 2021: — Provisional figures for the period January to June 2021 have been added. — The topics have been expanded with a breakdown of expenditure by type of care for all delivery forms except modular package at home. Changes as of 22 July 2021: Provisional figures for the period January to March 2021 have been added. In addition, data on the care gravity package GGZ-wonen (GGZ-W) have been added. When will there be new figures? Provisional figures for the period January to March 2022 shall be published in the third quarter of 2022.
