Dataset description

This table covers jobs of workers from abroad aged 18 to 75. Workers’ jobs are broken down by whether or not they are registered as residents in the population register, their sex, age, hourly wage class, type of contract and industry. For employees who are registered as residents in the population register, they must be at least 18 years old when moving to the Netherlands. For workers who are not registered as residents, they must be at least 18 years old at the beginning of their stay in the Netherlands. The variable ‘migration background/nationality’ is included as a background variable. Migrant background shall be used for workers registered as resident in the population register. For workers who are not registered as residents, their nationality is used. Data available from: 2010-2017 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are final. Changes as of 20 April 2020: None, this table has been discontinued. Changes as of 23 August 2019: — Three topics (“Total Workers’ Jobs”, “Jobs of Registered Employees” and “Jobs of Unregistered Employees”) have been reduced to one subject (“Jobs of Employees”) with an additional breakdown (by “whether/not resident”); —Information texts have been further strengthened; —There is an error in the figures corrected. By mistake, too many jobs were classified as jobs of resident workers. At the overall level, the figures have not changed, only the ratio of residents/non-residents has changed. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable. This table is followed by Workers born abroad; whether or not resident, personal characteristics (see paragraph 3).
