Dataset description

This table contains figures on the number of employees in care and well-being and their average age on the last day of the quarter (and in December the last Friday before Christmas), classified according to the CBS Standard Business Classification 2008 (SBI 2008). The data can be broken down by various personal characteristics (sex, age, generation, migration background) and region (country, province, RegioPlus labour market region). The determination of the region is based on the employee’s municipality of residence. For the determination of the AZW industries, the main activity (SBI code) of the company where an employee works. This may not be the only activity that a company undertakes. In the main activity “Other social advice, community houses and cooperation bodies in the field of well-being” (SBI Code: 88999) account is also taken of the collective agreement under which the employee is employed. Workers falling under CAO codes 0004 to 0300 or under CAO codes 0302 to 8102 are classified under ‘Other Care and Welfare’. Employees falling under another collective agreement code are classified under ‘Social Work (Other)’. A complete overview of all CAO codes can be found under paragraph 3. This table was developed in the framework of the research programme Labour Market Care and Welfare (AZW). For more trends and developments in the labour market in care and well-being, see www.AZWinfo.nl (see paragraph 3). Data available from: First quarter of 2010. Status of the figures: All figures are provisional. As long as the figures are provisional, minimal differences can occur. Changes as of 18 August 2022: The table is supplemented by figures for the 1st quarter 2022. Previous figures have been revised due to the use of new, more recent sources. As of 24 March 2022, the municipality of Weesp merged with the municipality of Amsterdam. This municipal reclassification has been implemented in this table from the 1st quarter of 2022. This administrative change may have an impact on developments in these regions and an overview of all municipal changes can be found in paragraph 3. When are new figures coming? This table is supplemented by new figures every quarter.
