Dataset description

This table describes the number of young people receiving youth care in kind at the reference date. The reference date is the last day of the reporting period (30 June for the first half year and 31 December for the second half and the whole year). Young people can be divided into forms of youth care, age and gender. The addition of the number of young people over multiple forms of youth care within a (sub)total can be greater than the (sub)total itself. A young person may have multiple pathways with different forms of youth care, but for each form of care or (sub)total, a young person only counts once. Data available from: 2015 This table contains the figures from 2021 onwards. The figures for 2015-2020 are in a separate table due to a trend break, which can be found via the link ‘Tabellen Youth Care’ in paragraph 3. Section 4 provides more information on issues affecting comparability over time of the figures in this table. Status of the figures: The figures for 30 June 2022 are provisional, the remaining figures are final. Amendments as of 31 October 2022: — The provisional figures for 30 June 2022 have been added. — The further provisional figures for 30 June 2021 and provisional figures for 31 December 2021 have been replaced by final figures. Changes as of 8 July 2022: The results on youth assistance in kind on 30 June 2021 and 31 December 2021 were temporarily removed as an error was found. The merging of the data provided for the 1st and 2nd half of 2021 resulted in incorrect start and end dates of these trajectories in a few percent of the provided care pathways. The impact of this error is very limited in the figures in other StatLine tables covering a whole reporting period (1st half of 2021, 2nd half of 2021 and the whole of 2021), but somewhat larger in these figures over a reference date. The planned half-yearly update on 31 October 2022 will publish the final figures for 30 June 2021 and 31 December 2021, correcting this error. When are new figures coming? At the end of April 2023, provisional figures for 31 December 2022 will be published.
