Dataset description

This table provides information on the number of young people up to the age of 18 who have received one or more forms of curative (medical) mental health care (GGZ) during the year under the Health Insurance Act (Zvw) and the associated costs for the use of care, broken down by region. The classification by municipality was made not on the basis of the registration in the Municipal Basic Administration (GBA) but on the basis of the young person’s actual residence on 1 January of the reporting year or on the first registration in the DPA. It is based on the principle of residence as applied in the Youth Act, which will enter into force from 2015. Young people can receive multiple forms of GGZ during the year. As of 1 January 2008, all mental health aid aimed at healing (recovery or stabilisation of the condition) will always be funded from the Zvw during the first year. After that, also, unless one resides in a mental health institution, addiction institution or psychiatric department of hospital (PAAZ). If someone stays in an institution or PAAZ for more than a year, the AWBZ takes over the financing of the treatment and the stay. This table refers to the population of persons meeting each of the following three conditions: — they are registered in the Municipal Basic Administration (GBA) for at least 1 day during the relevant year; — they are obliged to insure for basic insurance under the Zvw; — they have actually been insured for this basic insurance for at least 1 day during the relevant year. Data available from 2011 to 2014 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are final. Changes as of 23 March 2018 No, no, no. This table has been discontinued. Figures on youth care from 2015 will be published in separate tables (see paragraph 3). When are new figures coming? No longer applicable.
