Data from geotechnical probe research as stored in the Basic Registration Underground (BRO). Geotechnical probe research (in English Cone Penetration Test, abbreviated to CPT) is research aimed at obtaining information about the soil or geological structure of the subsurface, in which measurements are made on the subsurface in the field by pressing a conical probe into the soil. Traditionally, the purpose of the probe is to determine the resistance and friction the cone on the way down to derive mechanical properties from the substrate. Over time, the probe has evolved in such a way that a wide range of measurements can be made.
