Buffer zone around acidification sensitive, highly sensitive areas (WAV) (2016 FIR)

This stock contains buffer zones of 250 meters around for acidification sensitive, very sensitive areas (obv WAV) as defined in the Environment Ordinance for the Province of Groningen 2016. We have laid down rules for this in this Environment Regulation. The Law on ammonia and animal husbandry (WAV) protects very sensitive areas of our natural network against the emission of ammonia from livestock farms. On the basis of this law, we have designated the most sensitive areas in the Environment Regulation which are sensitive to ammonia. In these areas and a 250 m zone around it, there are restrictions on livestock farms. New establishment is not possible here and there is limited scope for existing livestock farms.
