This map shows the floodable area and maximum water depths that may occur after a breakthrough of regional flood defences. Regional flood defences are, for example, bosom quays, polder quays, fences along regional rivers, canals and compartmentalising dikes. Regional floodgates are under the control of the province. As the consequences of a breakthrough of a regional barrier are generally smaller, the standards of regional barriers are also lower. The designation and standard of regional flood defences is the responsibility of the province and is laid down in the Provincial Regulation. The map with the flood picture after the breakthrough of the regional flood defences is based on the ROR and is similar to the scenarios used on Riskmap.nl.
