Dataset description

What do you see: Soil aspects of the top layer that contribute to a good local and global climate What is the value: soil plays a leading role in climate regulation and can be used to mitigate the effects of climate change. A large amount of reduced carbon is stored in the soil, more carbon than there is when CO2 is present in the atmosphere. The CO2 emissions in peatlands are not included in this map. The soil in the built environment contributes to the prevention of the heat island effect (local climate). Important for: climate and water management, soil management in the built area, in the agricultural area, and in particular the peatland.
