Cultural History Main Structure: Estate Biotopes Globally

Historical estates in South Holland are of great importance to the environment. With their green and stately character, they form rest areas in the urban area. To ensure that this unique cultural heritage is not lost, the province has set up a so-called ‘landscape biotope’. This estate biotope consists of: — the core of the estate: house with garden and/or park — a buffer zone around this: the so-called field of vision — valuable elements such as: sightlines, panoramas, road or watercourse on which the estate is located. Global estate biotopes, established by Provincial States as part of the Vision on Zuid-Holland — Space Regulation. The location was determined by Provinciale Staten van Zuid-Holland on 2 July 2010 (including the changes adopted by PS on 23 February 2011). On 29 February 2012, PS adopted the amendments to the PSF and the Space Regulation. This included a large number of — usually small — corrections to the file, these corrections were made in this file.
