The groundwater mirror depth model is part of the Basic Registration Underground (BRO). It consists of a number of groundwater characteristics which together represent the long-term average fluctuation depths of the groundwater level. These statistics are the average smallest groundwater level (GHG), the average largest groundwater level (GLG), and the groundwater staircase derived therefrom (Gt). Until recently, the groundwater staircase was part of another registration object, namely the Soil Map of the Netherlands scale 1:50000. For ecological applications, the average spring ground water level depth (GVG) has also been added to the groundwater mirror depth model.
