Dataset description

The province of Utrecht is divided into 22 homogeneous areas. The classification took place on the basis of the soil type and groundwater levels (in groundwater steps). A factsheet is linked to each homogeneous area. The starting point for these factsheets is the possibilities, opportunities and obstacles offered by the natural soil and water system. The aim of the factsheets is to facilitate the ambition that the soil and water system is a co-weighting factor in the following choices: — assigning a function of use to an area; — determining the detailed layout of an area. For the municipality of Vijfheerenlanden, which has been part of the province of Utrecht since 1 January 2019, no data is yet available.
