Dataset description

Sub-areas of furnishing vision brook valleys Drentsche Aa After a description of the relevant area characteristics of the brook valley landscape of the Drentsche Aa (Chapter 2), the importance of restoring the ecohydrological system in relation to the present tasks is discussed (Chapter 3). Subsequently, the principles for functions and values are included in this chapter and the method used in the integral execution of tasks is described. Chapter 4 gives a generic view of the tasks. For the entire stream valley of the Drentsche Aa, the choices for nature and landscape are outlined and substantiated. The facilities for water management are also identified and an indication of the feasibility and desired phasing is given. As far as feasibility is concerned, we consider the possibilities for carrying out tasks within the Natura 2000 management plan period (short term) and the possibilities for completing tasks in the long term. In chapter 5, these choices are elaborated for fourteen distinct sub-areas (this dataset). A short landscape ecological description is given per sub-area, followed by a vision of the possibilities for the area-specific implementation of assignments. Here too, a distinction has been made between short-term and long-term opportunities. The visions per sub-area are readable separately. In this design vision, we do not opt for the ‘landscape valley’ whose boundaries are determined by the current spatial boundary between brook valley and surrounding fields or ash, but for the ‘physical stream valley’ in which the water management determines the boundaries.
