Dataset description

Data from map books from the period 1635 to 1775. The map books were used by the water board to ensure that the owners did not seize water by damping. The plots on the map are measured fairly precisely according to the current standards and provided with an administration with the owners. special locations of mills yards and occupations are listed in the books. All 97 cards on one give a very detailed picture of the Voorzaan, Nieuwe Haven and the Achterzaan. The leaves East and West of the Zaan are quite accurate.
