Dataset description

This stock lays down protection areas where restrictions apply to groundwater abstractions. There is a distinction between two types of areas: protected areas and areas of attention. Protected areas: Areas where, in principle, it is not permitted to move existing groundwater abstractions to or within those areas, and which are subject to a permit requirement for groundwater abstractions from zero cubic meters per hour (regardless of the depth of the well). The protected areas are similar to the nature network Brabant NNB, formerly known as EHS): the white spots within the NNB (e.g. roads and buildings) are also included in the Water Regulation as a protected area. Areas of Attention: Areas where, in principle, it is not permitted to move existing groundwater abstractions to or within those areas. Attention area is a protection zone of an average of 500 m around wet natural pearls, outside the NNB. In the sea clay area, the zone is less wide. The planning effect of the attention area is ensured in the Space Regulation: the wet nature pearls and the attention areas are included together under the name NNB Attention Area. Since the entry into force of the previous amendment to the North Brabant Water Regulation in 2014, several adjustments have been made to the limit of the NNB. The most recent change (at the time of adoption of this stock) is the Nature Management Plan 2020 and changes to the NNB limit in the Noord-Brabant Space Regulation. In order to ensure coordinated provincial regulations, it is necessary to also adapt the limits in the Water Regulation.
