The map shows the overall picture of the amount of pesticides in surface water. The SUM overruns (SNO) is a level of overrun of the surface water based on the number of different pesticides exceeding the standard and the size of that exceedance. The larger the SNO (red and purple dots) the more and the greater there are exceedances. No SNO has been calculated for grey dots (because insufficient substances have been measured.
The map comes from the Atlas Pesticides in surface water (www.bestrijdingsmiddelenatlas.nl).
This atlas has been financed by the various ministries (IenM and EZ), the Directorate General Water, with the cooperation of UvW, RIVM, Ctgb and Rijkswaterstaat — WVL.
The data have been created by the large measurement effort that our Dutch water managers make every year. The data have been collected via IHW. The clients and developers of the pesticide atlas website are not liable for any incorrect or incomplete data (about measurements, standards, land use, etc.) or information in this web service
