Dataset description

In the Legger Rijkswaterstaatswerk, waterways, secondary channels, works of art, banks and regional flood defences are described. Since the introduction of the Water Act, it is mandatory to include all national water works. The depositor consists of maps that describe the location, shape, size and construction of these objects. This is called the “normative” state. This involves, for example, the required bottom depth of a channel or the minimum volume storage of a secondary channel. To adjust the Legger, a Legger decision is required. The first Legger Rijkswaterstaatswerk was established in 2012. In October 2014, the Legger was updated. In 2022, the Legger Rijkswaterstaat works were updated again, only within the river area. Executed river widening and WFD (frameline waterline) projects in the floodplains are included in the deposit.
