Dataset description

This map shows where drinking water is extracted and which protection categories apply to surrounding areas. At the same time, it is visible on a coarse scale where to what depth fresh groundwater is present. It is expected that due to predicted climate change and future sea level rise, groundwater salinisation will increase and the availability of fresh ground and surface water will decrease. For example, this has the risk that agricultural land and natural areas will be irreparably damaged. The source holder of the map is Deltares (DANK008a).
