Dataset description

This map shows the land use of sand drifts in the Netherlands and the changes thereto between 2007 and 2018. Three types of land use are distinguished: bare sand, open ground, and forest. As a basis, the topographic maps are used 1:10000. These have been partially corrected by aerial photographs. drone photos and automatic classification have been used for a number of nature areas. The sub-cards of these areas are mounted in the map, which has sometimes led to additional details. In both years, the same level of detail was used. The images used had a resolution of 25 cm in all cases. The resolution of the map is about one meter. When calculating differences between the two years worked with a tolerance of 1 m and its planes less than 1 m² combined with neighboring planes. Infrastructure, construction and water have been cut from the map image. Areas have been further broken down by merging with provincial borders, Natura2000 borders and property boundaries of site managers. In the stock, solitary trees are sometimes not displayed correctly, but they form only a small part of the total area of forest and trees. Sometimes solitary trees are not in 2007 and are included in 2018, because they have reached the required minimum size at that time.
