Dunes in the hinterland
The Loonse and Drunense Dunes are protected nature reserve (Natura2000). However, the sand drifts and moors in the area threaten to become overgrown by forest (success). Natuurmonumenten has already taken some measures to stop this process. Do these measures work? Why or not? Do you need more? This is what teams of fourth-year students at the Avans University of Applied Sciences in Breda are investigating. For this purpose, they link map data from the ANK to their own research. They build on the work of students from earlier years.
