Dataset description

Vegetation database (built from planes) of all areas under the influence of the sea (welfares and green beaches), collected on the basis of aerial photographs 1:5,000 or 1:10.000 and fieldwork. Extraction by area takes place in a 6-year cycle. The database contains derived information from 2008 with which, in addition to the vegetation map and gross dune type map (GST), the following maps can be created: vegetation zone map, vegetation structure map and WRW zoning map. Via the service desk data of Rijkswaterstaat a translation table is available from Salttype to relevant derivatives. The database is composed of vegetation mappings obtained based on classification according to Salt97 and Salt08. Until 2007, vegetation mapping was obtained using Salt97. In these mappings, local vegetation types were distinguished by area. With the arrival of Salt08, typology has been harmonised. Maps until 2007 have been translated into the Salt08 typology. Per mapping, a translation list of the types is available, which can be requested via the service desk data of the CIV. For an accompanying explanation per karting area per year, see: http://publicaties.minienm.nl/zoeken Annex I of each explanatory note provides the specific metadata. Of the original mapping, GIS data are also available file based on Salt97 under: http://www.rijkswaterstaat.nl/apps/geoservices/geodata/dmc/kweldervegetatie/
